As part of the development of our Medical Imaging Department, we are looking for a 

Pediatric radiologist

to strengthen our multidisciplinary team starting from November 1st, 2025. 
 

Your job

As a paediatric radiologist, your mission will be to:

  • Perform and interpret pediatric imaging examinations using all imaging techniques : X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT
  • Ensure a close collaboration with specialized pediatric teams (in all sub-fields of pediatrics), pediatric intensive care and emergency, neonatology, pediatric surgery, pediatric oncology
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings and therapeutic decisions.
  • Supervise radiologists in training (interns) and medical students.
  • Participate in clinical or translational imaging research projects in collaboration with the hospital’s parent university, UCLouvain.

General presentation

While benefiting from separate spaces, tailored to the specific needs of children, the pediatric imaging unit is part of the department of radiology of the Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, which provides high-standard medical imaging for children and adults. With a strong pediatric activity and a modern technology platform, our hospital is committed to providing specialized care tailored to the needs of children, from premature infants to adolescents, including pediatric intensive care (PICU), neonatology (NICU) and a broad pediatric oncology activity.

Your profile

  • You are the holder of a diploma in radiology (medical imaging) with an interest in pediatric imaging; previous experience in pediatric and academic imaging are valuable assets;
  • You are authorized to practice medicine in Belgium (or in the process of being recognized) and as such, you benefit from an INAMI number;
  • You are proficient in French, both oral and written.

Activity

  • Full-time: 4 days/week dedicated to clinical activity and 1 day/week dedicated to scientific and teaching activities
  • X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI in all areas of pediatric imaging, including fetal MRI – please note that in the pediatric imaging unit ultrasound examinations are performed only by radiologists, not by sonographers
  • Active participation in pediatric multidisciplinary meetings : pediatric oncology, surgery and hepato-gastroenterology, pediatric neurology, nephro-urology, neonatology, neuro-oncology, vascular malformations, antenatal diagnosis
  • Possibility to perform interventional procedures, such as biopsies or percutaneous drainage (note that most of the interventional activity is carried out by the dedicated interventional radiology unit of the medical imaging department)
  • Off-site on-call supervision, with rotation between the pediatric radiologists of the unit (doctors at the end of training insuring on-site activity after hours)
  • Possibility of complementary independent activity (MRI) in the evening and weekend

Equipment

In the pediatric imaging unit (equipment exclusively dedicated to pediatric activity):

  • 4 Ultrasound machines
  • 2 conventional radiology units
  • 1 mobile X-ray unit

Shared with the rest of the radiology department:

  • 4 Dual Energy CT machines
  • 4 MRI machines, including three clinical machines (one 1.5T and two 3.0T) and a 3.0T machine dedicated to research

Current composition of the team

  • 2 full-time pediatric radiologists with more than 15 years of experience in pediatric imaging
  • 4 external consultants (1 day/week)
  • 2 doctors in training (interns)
